DOT will continue to participate in multi-agency planning and design efforts for coastal protection systems along the East River and the Battery in Manhattan, Staten Island's South Shore, Red Hook in Brooklyn and others areas identified in OneNYC.

DOT has participated in multi-agency planning and design efforts for coastal protection systems, including design planning and coordination for the East Side Coastal Resiliency Project with the Mayor’s Office of Recovery and Resiliency, the South Shore of Staten Island Coastal Storm Risk Management project with the United States Army Core of Engineers, Interim Flood Protection Measures with the New York City Office of Emergency Management and participation, and partnership with the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery on several neighborhood projects.
